The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) may announce the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination Result 2026 in the second week of June. While UPSC has not confirmed the result date, previous years indicate a likely release within two to three weeks of the exam.
UPSC held the Civil Services Preliminary Examination on May 24, 2026, at centres across the country. Around 5.49 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. They competed for 933 vacancies in services such as IAS, IPS, IFS, and other central government posts.
Over the last five years, UPSC has generally declared Prelims results within 15 to 19 days of the examination. Based on this pattern, candidates can expect the UPSC Prelims Result 2026 to be announced around the second week of June.
Once released, UPSC will publish a PDF containing the roll numbers of candidates shortlisted for the Civil Services Main Examination.
Candidates can download the result PDF from the official UPSC website: upsc.gov.in after publication. They should keep their roll numbers handy to quickly check their qualifying status.
According to early feedback, General Studies Paper I was more challenging than last year’s paper. Many candidates found the paper lengthy, especially sections related to History, Economy, and Science & Technology.
Meanwhile, the CSAT paper introduced a few unfamiliar question formats. However, experts noted that well-prepared candidates were able to attempt the paper comfortably.
Meanwhile, candidates can also follow updates related to SSC CGL 2026 Notification, DSSSB Recruitment 2026, and TGPSC Recruitment 2026 for more government exam and recruitment news.
