The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) released the SSC CGL 2026 notification on May 21, 2026. This year, SSC plans to fill nearly 12,256 vacancies for various Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts in central government departments. Interested candidates can now apply online through the official website ssc.gov.in.
The SSC CGL 2026 application process has already started. Candidates can submit their forms until June 22, 2026. Meanwhile, the last date to pay the application fee is June 23, 2026.
SSC will open the application correction window from June 29 to July 1, 2026. Therefore, candidates should carefully check all details before final submission.
The recruitment drive includes posts such as Assistant Section Officer, Income Tax Inspector, Auditor, Tax Assistant, and CBI Sub-Inspector.
Candidates must first complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process on the SSC portal. After that, applicants need to enter personal and educational details, upload scanned documents, and submit the form online.
SSC has fixed the application fee at ₹100. However, women candidates and applicants from SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen categories do not need to pay the fee.
The SSC CGL Tier 1 examination will take place between August and September 2026. Candidates who qualify will appear for the Tier 2 exam in December 2026.
Both exams will take place in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
Tier 1 will carry 200 marks. SSC will deduct 0.50 marks for every incorrect answer. Meanwhile, Tier 2 will test candidates on Mathematics, Reasoning, English Language, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, and Data Entry Speed.
