Indian Institute of Science has introduced three new BTech programmes for the 2026 academic session. The new courses aim to combine core engineering with advanced scientific and computational learning. Students seeking admission to the institute can apply through JEE Advanced 2026 scores.
The newly launched programmes include BTech in Materials Science and Engineering, BTech in Mechanics and Computing, and BTech in Aerospace Engineering. These courses will join the institute’s existing undergraduate offerings, including the BTech in Mathematics and Computing and the Bachelor of Science (Research) programme.
IISc Bengaluru designed these programmes to create a stronger connection between engineering, mathematics, and scientific research. The curriculum will focus heavily on analytical skills, computational tools, and interdisciplinary learning during the first few semesters.
The institute aims to prepare students for careers in advanced technology sectors such as aerospace, AI, manufacturing, robotics, and research. Students will also gain exposure to practical innovation and high-level scientific projects.
Admission to these new BTech programmes will depend entirely on JEE Advanced 2026 scores. Candidates must qualify for JEE Advanced after securing a place among the top 2.5 lakh candidates in JEE Main 2026.
Students will participate in the JoSAA 2026 counselling process for seat allocation. Candidates must also meet Class 12 eligibility requirements with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects.
This year, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is conducting the JEE Advanced 2026 examination on May 17. Candidates planning to apply for IISc Bengaluru’s new BTech programmes should closely follow the counselling and admission updates after the exam.
For broader engineering entrance updates, students can also track JEE Advanced Admit Card 2026 announcements.
